What happens after organ donation?

Whether an organ is given to help save the life of a family member, a friend, or someone never met, the living donor experience is fraught with information gaps. As a program under the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR), The Living Donor Collective’s (LDC) mission is to collect and analyze information provided through the registration of donor candidates, in an effort to expand our knowledge base of what happens to living donors after living organ donation. At LDC, we are data driven to improve outcomes for all potential living donors.

A Spotlight on Storytelling

The Living Donation Storytelling Project is a new educational resource that focuses on the personal stories of those affected by living donor kidney transplantation. All participants share their experiences first-hand in video stories that are made available in the storytelling library. The result is a space that fosters community, provides learning opportunities on living donation, and informs the public about the need for living donors.
