Assessing Access
Collecting data on living donor candidates will allow stakeholders to better understand potential demographic and medical barriers to living donation. Stakeholders include current and future donor candidates, their intended recipients, their families, the transplant programs and the general public.
Ultimately, assessing living donor outcomes will help improve the understanding of people involved in all phases of the living donation process—from initial evaluation to follow-up care. Under SRTR, LDC will conduct follow-up evaluations to include both health and psychosocial well-being.
In providing information for donors and programs, we can ultimately help transplant candidates on the waiting list, donor candidates, living donors, and transplant programs alike.
